「 locations 」

「 City Center 」
Dead in the center of Yoshiawara, where the two main thoroughfares intersect, are a few square blocks that are considered 'neutral' territory. Inter-faction squabbling is uncommon in the first place, but in the city center it's flat out not tolerated. The city center is the busiest and brightest part of Yoshiwara, amplified by the fact that the town square is immediately south of the main intersection. It's here where most of the local festivals are hosted and here where all the best (public) parties take place.

Locations of note include Chiyo's bar, an arcade, and an unnamed public bathhouse.

「 North 」
Closest to the city center, the north district has what could be fairly called Yoshiwara's most iconic look. Within a few blocks of either of the main roads the north district is packed brothels, burlesques, and other businesses that peddle sex and the human body. However, the district gradually fades from business to residential the further you get from the city center, and the streets near Yoshiwara's walls are downright quaint.

Locations of note include a phone sex call center and Crossroads.

「 East 」
The east district is primarily residential, which means you can find apartment buildings, standalone houses, falling down shacks, borderline mansions, and everything in between. The east district is generally quiet (for Yoshiwara, at least) and many of the businesses here are simple - food carts, neighborhood bars, and corner stores. However, there are a few upscale businesses along the riverbank.

Locations of note include the Shinto shrine, the Buddhist temple, and Oicho-Kabu.

「 South 」
With shops ranging from normal, every day bookstores to high end fetish shops, it's safe to say that the vast majority of commerce (or at least, the commerce that doesn't directly involve selling one's body) takes place in the south district. Seeing as the town's only bank, office buildings, and hospital can be found here the district can seem shockingly normal compared to the rest of the city. Still, the district plays host to a significant number of bars, cabarets, and gambling dens, and Zouchou's large casino is a prominent feature on the riverbank.

Locations of note include the bank, the hospital, Shichifukujin (Seven Lucky Gods), and Lazy.

「 West 」
The west district is primarily an entertainment district and prominently features its fair share of galleries, concert halls, playhouses, and movie theaters. While it is, as expected, famous for the raunchy and blatantly sexual works of art on display, one can still find displays and showing that are mainstream, and even some that are subversive and politically charged instead of merely shocking. The west district is home to Yoshiwara's police and fire stations, as well as the town's library. Though the west district has its pockets of seediness, for the most part is the nicest part of town.

Locations of note include the police station, the fire station, and the Yoshiwara Playhouse.

「 The Underground 」
Tokyo plays host to an expansive, state of the art railway system, and Yoshiwara is no exception. Or rather, it was no exception. For reasons unknown the subway system that runs underneath Yoshiwara was closed down a decade ago and it's remained untouched since then. The entrances to the old stations are barricaded and entry is strictly prohibited. Still, even if you can get in there's not much to see. Though there's clear signs of someone or something living down there, it always seems to be empty.

「 Spirit World (Reikai) 」
The spirit world most definitely exists and magic practitioners all throughout Yoshiwara will insist as much. If you want to know how to reach it, though... Well, too bad. Those same practitioners will suddenly clam up, dodge questions, or deny the possibility of such a thing if asked. Contact the mods if your character would like to dig deeper.

「 Beyond the Walls... 」
The rest of Tokyo is only a stone's throw away... provided you can leave the district. There are only three gates in and out of the city, and the more obviously someone is from another world or a worker in Yoshiwara the more likely they are to be stopped by the guards. Tokyo itself is remarkably tame compared to Yoshiwara, but the locals are extremely reluctant to treat with off-worlders, and those that cause trouble or stand out too much may find themselves swiftly returned to Yoshiawara and given a firm warning to not leave.
